24HOP Needs Women!
“Next 24 Hours of PASS on March 15-16 2011, celebrating Women’s History Month with 24 female speakers!”
Thus goes the announcement on the SQLPASS homepage. This means that we’d like you – yes, YOU madam! – to consider submitting an abstract to speak. Off the top of my head, I can think of maybe a dozen women that I suspect will jump in the game, and I can’t wait to see who else will submit.
If you have an abstract in mind or have suggestions for specific speakers or topics, send us an email at 24hours@sqlpass.org. Deadline for abstract submission (max 250 words with a 125 word bio) is January 14.
So let’s talk: If you’re a woman who is new to speaking, or you’ve just been thinking about it and would like a sounding board, contact me (or another speaker). We’d like to help, and we definitely want you to submit for 24HOP 2011!
Happy days,
Jen McCown

I’ve submitted. I’d also be happy to help someone prepare an abstract and to prepare for an online presentation. We need more “data chicks” to present at PASS events, and 24HoP is a great opportunity to be heard.
You do have something to share, trust me.
