A Better Braindump (#mcm #mcmstudy)

I’m studying my butt off for the soon-to-be-deprecated Microsoft Certified Master cert’s lab – and the three unfinished prerequisite certs I’ve been putting off since 2008* – and I’m not using braindumps. I just wanted to brain dump HERE a bit. (And btw, you can follow my mid-study ramblings on twitter at #mcmstudy, if it pleases ya.)

Super-Duper Stuff!

Remember that book we were coordinating, with all the first time authors? Yeah, it’s nearly ready. Behold, TribalSQL: New Voices in SQL Server. With any luck, it will be published by the time the PASS Summit rolls around in October!

Study

First, TrainSignal has certification practice exams, and we have a subscription. BRILLIANT preparatory aid.

Show

This week’s DBAs@Midnight webshow should be something to behold. That’s all I’m saying. 11pm Central, Friday, at webshow.MidnightDBA.com

Saturday

Second, SQL Saturday Kansas City is coming up, and that right soon. We’ll be there teaching BOTH of our interviewing sessions back to back, and it’s going to be a blast.

Summit

Third, the PASS Summit is coming up in, what, 6 weeks? I’ll be blogging and speaking and all that jazz, and it’s going to be a good con. And you guys NEED to sign up for our High Tea party there, for it shall be both wonderful, charitable, and happily vulgarious.

Happy day,
Jen McCown

*Yes, I know I don’t HAVE to have the certs done before I take the lab…but I’m already started, I know the material pretty darn well by now, and I’m on a roll. It’s not necessarily a bad way to prep, either…
