Next Week, in or out of Charlotte (#sqlpass #Summit13 #SQLHighTea #TooManyHashtags)

Welcome to Tuesday. We hope you enjoy your stay! Edit: We have been informed that today is actually Wednesday. We are looking into this, and will report back if a workaround or solution is found in a timely manner. -J

Here’s a few notes for the ramp up to conference week…some for those attending, and some for those stuck at home.

You speakers and attendees:

  1. High Tea: It is no joke, no exaggeration whatever to say that this year’s High Tea session lineup is the best we’ve ever seen. These are the classiest, the funniest, the brightest people, presenting on the (ahem) classiest, funniest, and brightest topics. We’ve got a great sponsor – thank you Pluralsight!! – a great venue, great everything. Take a quick look at the official High Tea page and get your tix now!
  2. Pack your stuff. Bring cough drops, power strips, phone battery backups. Remember to sanitize often, and never pass up a chance to charge your devices!

You at home:

  1. Sorry we won’t see you there. But you might see US there! We’re doing some interviews, a Friday webshow, and maybe a few short bits for YouTube.
  2. Plus! You can see some of the best parts of the conference on PASStv! Check out the press release, pasted below:

PASStv Sharing Taste of PASS Summit 2013 via Free Live-Streaming Sessions, Keynotes, and Community Interviews

Daily programming from the conference floor with overnight replay for Microsoft SQL Server and business intelligence professionals throughout the world

CHICAGO, IL – October 9, 2013 – Can’t join the world’s largest Microsoft SQL Server conference in Charlotte, NC, this year? PASS Summit will be bringing a slice of the event to community members around the globe via free live-streaming of technical sessions, keynotes, interviews, and more Oct. 16-18.

Following its popular debut at PASS Summit last year, PASStv will deliver a jam-packed live broadcast schedule from PASS Summit 2013, including technical sessions by some of the industry’s top speakers, keynotes by Microsoft Corporate Vice President Quentin Clark and Technical Fellow David DeWitt Oct. 16 and 17, and the Women in Technology Panel Discussion Oct. 17.

The channel will also feature interviews with keynoters, speakers, SQL Server MVPs, community and Microsoft leaders, PASS volunteers, and sponsors. PASStv will then replay the day’s programming overnight for convenient access by SQL Server professionals throughout the world.

“PASS Summit is first and foremost a community conference – planned and presented by and for the SQL Server community,” said PASS President Bill Graziano. “So even if you aren’t able to join us in Charlotte, we’re excited that you can tune in to PASStv and share in some incredible learning and community activities wherever you are.”

All PASStv programming will be live-streamed and replayed from the PASS Summit website beginning at 8:00am ET/12:00 GMT Wednesday, Oct. 16. Review the schedule for programming times in your location.
