Index Maintenance
We have created Minion Reindex – a free, standalone index maintenance module for SQL Server. It is both simple to install and run (it’s effectively “plug and play”), and deeply configurable. Seriously, just take a look at the highlights sheet.
My favorite feature? How intensely configurable the thing is. Order indexing any which way you want, and add code to run before or after, and so much more. Not to mention the in-app help, and the live logging.
Backup
And Minion Backup is our free, standalone SQL Server backup module. Again, simple to install/run, and deeply deeply configurable. Here’s the MB highlights PDF.
My favorite features here: table configuration that lets you use one single job to run all of your backups. And the easy stripe/mirror/cop/move. Oh yeah, and also everything I said about Minion Reindex counts here, too.
And then there’s the management software you always wanted
In addition to the free modules, we’ve also created Minion Enterprise: a SQL Server management solution that’s absolutely mind blowing.
My current favorite feature might be the Active Directory expansion module. Or maybe the central backup management. Or…no, there are too many. Hit up the highlights doc.
