So here’s where we are with the Tribal SQL book project…
The abstract submission date has passed, and I’ve assembled the 99 (99!!) abstracts in Excel form.
Next steps are simple.
- Choose abstracts, submit outline to Redgate.
- Inform submitters.
- Set deadlines for chapters, first edits, and tech edits.
- Get going.
This thing has dragged out just a little because November was dedicated to NaNoWriMo (see my personal blog if you’re curious), and since then I’ve been stuck. The problem is #1 above. How on earth do I choose abstracts? Rough…I think I’ll start by getting you guys involved.
I set up a survey with the 19 “soft topic” abstracts for you to vote on. A few guidelines:
- I left out names because I want to see what you think of the abstracts themselves.
- These are rough abstracts, just something the author banged out and sent to me. I haven’t proofread or edited them. Keep that in mind when voting.
- I’m not necessarily going to choose exactly what the crowd votes for, but it’ll definitely influence me.
- Multiple answers are okay, but try not to pick “yes” and “no” on a single abstract, or I’ll probably ignore your vote.
Okay, go vote, if you dare: Tribal SQL “Soft Topic” Voting
And guys? Thanks.
