Teched: Day 2/2 (/4), or, It Sucks to be Sean

Title explanation: TechEd is four days long, but we’re only here for two days. And today’s the last day.

Sean woke up sick this morning. I TOLD him not to sample my tomato tarragon soup yesterday at dinner, but noooo…(and he blames ME for kissing him goodnight. Whatev.)  So we’re out of here even earlier than expected, maybe noon or so.

But let’s talk yesterday! We had good times. I’ll make it a brief rundown, so’s to quickify things…

Teched Tuesday

Breakfast with friends, Lil’ Buck, the exhibition floor (with legos! And socks! And free things! And Trainsignal people!). Then Trainsignal interviewed us, and that was big fun. I think we amused them.  Then end of day with about a dozen of the coolest speakers, MVPs, MCMs, and reps before dinner. We had an excellent talk there about the MCM program, and it strikes me yet again: the absolute best parts of conferences must be sought out, not brought to you by invitation.

Thanks to Eric omg-what’s-your-last-name and friends for a lovely dinner at The Bistro at Maison de Ville, a quiet little restaurant off of Bourbon street with great food (it comes Sean-Recommended!), excellent customer service (ask for Alice!), and a lovely little atrium out back all covered in vines. We’ll be back to see them next time we’re in New Orleans.

Two final notes: One, I should be at the WIT luncheon today for a very little while (maybe 11am-noon ish). And two, here is the #awesomesauce that resulted from Monday’s pre-dinner sit-down (which was, despite our best efforts, free of shirtless firemen wallpaper):

It was great as always hanging out with you guys before dinner, talking MCM shop! The best parts of any conference aren’t on the agenda, that’s for sure.

Agreed, on all counts. Thanks for the insight into the program! That’s vital to the people looking to start the program. (Not me!)
