Ideas I’ve had lately:
- Has anyone thought to put together a smartphone app for checking license plate numbers against “wanted” or Amber Alert lists? As it turns out, yes.
- iPhone Amber Alert app here.
- For Droid or other just search market/app store for “Amber Alert”. I’ve just now installed it on my Droid.
- With Microsoft phased/phasing out MS Money (and I’m not that fond of Quicken), perhaps it’s time I made my own home-grown banking app with SQL. See, I don’t want or need to pay bills from my app…I just need the categorization, reporting and trending. I can SO do that with SSIS and SSRS. When I find the time, I will.
Stuff I’ve been doing lately:
- Lost ~5# last week, and on track to keep losing. (See Food as Fuel on my personal blog.)
- Been listening to a lot of podcasts – Nerdist, SmodCast (SO NSFW), Paul and Storm. Got any you really like?
- I just started spam hunting on twitter (hash: #HuntingSpam)…I post things like “lady gaga, justin bieber, mortgage” and see who I can Block and Report. It’s very satisfying.
- Just bought two Blue October albums – two PHYSICAL CDs. I got called all kinds of old on Twitter. Anyway, I had and adored Foiled, so I got Consent to Treatment and Approaching Normal at Best Buy (which is walking distance from my office, so I totally saved a tree.)
- I read about this on this blog of Wil Wheaton’s: Five Fists of Science (a comic about Einstein, Tesla, etc etc). Want, wanty-want want.
Cool stuff I’ve seen online recently:
